Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Folio is a desktop application for macOS. This policy covers both the app and this website.

What the app collects

Nothing. Folio does not include analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or user accounts. Your file names, paths, contents and usage never leave your Mac.

Network requests

The app makes exactly one kind of outbound request: an update check against a public version manifest. That request contains no identifiers — no device ID, no install ID, no cookies. It is a plain download of a JSON file. You can disable update checks at any time.

Files and permissions

Folio reads the folders you open. OS-level permissions (such as Full Disk Access) are granted by you in System Settings and can be revoked there at any time. Folio does not upload, copy or index your files anywhere off your Mac.

This website

This site is static and sets no cookies. It loads no third-party fonts, scripts or trackers. The hosting provider may keep standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention; those logs are not used to profile visitors.

Children

Folio is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it, and the previous version stays available on request.
