Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 November 2026
These terms apply to the Folio application for macOS and to this website. By downloading or using Folio you agree to them.
Licence
Folio is licensed, not sold. You may install and use it on Macs that you own or control, for personal or commercial work. While Folio is in beta it is provided free of charge.
Restrictions
You may not resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the application, or remove or alter its signature, update feed or attribution. Reverse engineering for interoperability is permitted only to the extent allowed by applicable law.
Beta software
Folio is currently beta software. It may contain defects and may change or lose features. Keep backups of anything important — as you should with any file-management tool. Do not use beta builds on the only copy of critical data.
No warranty
Folio is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any data loss, corruption, or indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the software.
Updates
The app checks for updates and installs them on request. You are not obliged to update. Older versions may stop working with the update feed once newer builds are published.
Privacy
The app collects no data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms will be published on this page with a new date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
